Flight delays are common on Indonesian domestic routes. Arrive in Sorong the evening before your vessel departure. Swiss-Belhotel Sorong or similar business hotels near the port are reliable options.
ATMs available in Sorong — withdraw IDR for local expenses, permits, and tips. Limited ATM availability in Raja Ampat itself. Credit cards rarely accepted outside Sorong.

Entering Raja Ampat by sea is breathtaking. As your vessel clears the Sorong channel, the water transitions from murky port waters to crystalline blue within an hour. By the time you reach the Dampier Strait, you're surrounded by verdant islands, turquoise lagoons, and some of the richest marine waters on Earth.
