Manta Sandy, Melissa's Garden, and Chicken Reef are accessible to Open Water divers with calm conditions and moderate depths. These sites offer extraordinary biodiversity without demanding current management skills. Our guides provide additional support for less experienced divers at all sites.
A 7-day liveaboard cruise typically covers 12-18 different dive sites with 3-4 dives per day. This includes the Dampier Strait essentials plus extended exploration of Wayag or Penemu regions. A 10-day expedition covers 20-25+ sites including remote Misool locations.
Manta season peaks from November through April in the Dampier Strait region (Manta Sandy, Blue Magic). Magic Mountain in Misool offers manta encounters September through June. Some cleaning stations are active year-round, though reliability is highest during peak season.
All luxury vessels provide full premium equipment (Aqualung or Scubapro). However, experienced divers often prefer their own regulators, computers, and wetsuits for fit and familiarity. We recommend 3mm or 5mm wetsuits — water temperature is 27-30°C but multiple dives per day can cause gradual cooling.
