Arborek Village – Culture Meets Marine Wonder
Arborek is a small Papuan village on its own island in the Dampier Strait, famous for two things: warm cultural welcomes and one of the world’s best jetty snorkels. Beneath the wooden pier, hundreds of batfish, giant trevally, and reef fish create an underwater spectacle accessible to anyone who can put their face in the water.
The Arborek Experience
Jetty Snorkel – Hundreds of batfish, sweetlips, and schooling fish directly beneath the village pier. Possibly the easiest world-class snorkel site on Earth.
Village Visit – Traditional Papuan dance performances, handicraft markets, and warm community hospitality.
Surrounding Reefs – Excellent snorkeling and diving on reefs surrounding the island.
Access
Arborek is one of the most accessible sites in Raja Ampat, reachable as a short boat trip from Waisai. Included in virtually all cruise itineraries.
